Q&A with Gary

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?Gary-Bruff2
I loved football and basketball and wanted to play in the NFL or NBA. Since that was probably not going to happen, I was always good at math and wanted to do something related to that. That's how I ended up going into engineering. I still like math and anything to do with data and numbers.

What do you consider to be the best invention of all time?
Toilet paper. Anyone else nervous during covid? We tried not to hoard but definitely did not want to run out...

What's the weirdest job you've ever had?
I worked at Pete Packing in Chesaning processing all kinds of meats. Denny McLain (great Detroit Tigers Pitcher) was the owner at the time and had his family running the company (poorly). He ended up in jail for embezzling from the company.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Mexican food - I'm more Mexican than Weezy (Louise).

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
Help my family and friends, then travel.

What's the most played song on your phone?
Christian music.

What are your top three life highlights?
Marrying my wife. Birth of my daughters. Reading the purpose-driven life book.

What is your hidden talent?
I'm a great singer, even with just one tone. An old lady at church told me that one day and I believe her. My kids even call me Gary Groban.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Carrot cake, it's the best vegetable out there.

What is your biggest achievement to date - personal or professional?
My girls - they are going to do great things and help a lot of people.

What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Cornhole.
