Melissa Coonan
Get to know Melissa Coonan, our HR Generalist. Melissa has worked at Fullerton for 15 years and is responsible for recruiting and onboarding new hires along with managing employee benefits. Every day is something different in HR, but Melissa's goal is to provide support to employees when needed and help Fullerton be the best place to work. What Melissa likes most about working at Fullerton is that Fullerton is a family and it shows, she appreciates the supportive culture where everyone helps one another and is there in good times and bad times.
Melissa has been married to her husband Scott for 14 years. She has three children: Haley (28), Jacob (27), and Mackenzie (25), and has 4 wonderful grandsons: Layne will be 3 years old in September and the triplets, Elliot, Ian, and Oliver just turned one. Her only hobby at the moment is being "Mimi" and being with her grandsons as much as possible.
Q&A with Melissa
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a veterinarian.
What's the weirdest job you've ever had?
I don't know if it is weird, but I worked at an ice cream parlor.
What skill would you like to master?
I have always wanted to learn to play the piano or the guitar.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
I would make sure both our families were taken care of, then do something super fun!
What's the most played song on your phone?
Ha-ha, Disney soundtracks - especially "We Don't Talk About Bruno".
What are your top three life highlights?
Most definitely my two daughters and my son.
What is the one thing about you that would surprise people?
Scott and I were married on Leap Day. Not really surprising but a fun fact.
What is your guilty pleasure?
FRIENDS
What is your biggest achievement to date - personal or professional?
Raising my children.
